5900 BLOCK OF SETTER
RESCUE / PERSON PINNED

At approx 2146hrs, companies were alerted for a subject pinned under a heavy motorcycle. Units from Elkridge, Ellicott City TWR-2, Long Reach, and EMS-1 were sent to assist. Tower 2 was special requested for air bags.

I-95 HOWARD/BALTO COUNTY LINE
FLOODING / CARS STRANDED

The metro area recieved heavy storms which resulted in multiple calls in the County. Units were scattered mostly in the 1st Battalion due to weather related emergencies along with routine calls.

Units responded to numerous I-95 calls to include the northbound lanes being flooded with approx. 2-3 feet of water in 3 lanes. Numerous cars stranded however no injuries were reported. This resulted in a large delay to travelers in the northbound lanes.

CLARKSVILLE PIKE AT DAVIDGE ROAD
PERSONAL INJURY ROLLOVER
 

Units were dispatched at 1349hrs for a personal injury with entrapment. Companies arrived to find one on its roof with a subject inside. Rescue struts were used by Tower 2 and the patient was removed and transferred to Baltimore Shock Trauma via MSP Trooper 2.

10400 LITTLE PATUXANT PKWY. 
ASSAULT / FLYOUT

At 2008hrs units were sent to the above location for a fight in progress. Companies arrived to find an adult male suffering from significant blood loss due to a severe laceration from a glass window. MSP aviation was called to transport the subject to Shock Trauma in Baltimore.

HAZ-MAT SPILL 

At approx. 1650hrs units were dispatched for a Mercury Spill at a group home. Special Operations division found a small spill contained. The area was sealed off and the incident was turned over to MDE.

989 MELVIN ROAD, ANNAPOLIS
TRENCH RESCUE

At 1039hrs units from Special Operations Division were sent to the City of Annapolis for mutual aid to back up Anne Arundel County's trench team. One subject was removed from a trench alongside of a house.

Units on the call.  E101, TWR 10, P105, ESV 10, POD 10, SAFETY 1, BATT 1, Unit 1831 and unit 301.

8900 block of Blue Pool 
HOUSE FIRE

At 1514hrs units were sent for a reported fire in the basement. Units from Long Reach arrived to find a working fire. All occupants were accounted for. E9 stretched an attack line and made quick work of the fire with the special services. Units cleared approx. 1759hrs with fire investigators.

6587 DEEP RUN PKWY
SHOOTING IN EAST COLUMBIA

At 2307 hrs units from Long Reach were dispatched for subject shot in East Columbia with subjects fleeing the scene in a silver Monte Carlo. Engine 9, P-9 and EMS-1 arrived to find one suffering from a superficial wound. HCPD apprehended the subjects near the scene.

CRADLEROCK WAY / DOCKSIDE LANE
PERSONAL INJURY / POLICE ACTIVITY
 

Units from Rivers Park were sent to Cradlerock Way at Dockside Lane at approx. at 1916hrs. While responding units were advised by numerous callers of a fight occuring at the accident scene. Companies arrived to find a chaotic scene with a large showing of witnesses and residents. HCPD arrived and after a brief foot chase an adult male subject was apprehended.  P-10 transported to HCGH. Unit 330 (Capt. Hardesty had the command).

11000 Block of Harding Road
PHYSICAL RESCUE

At 1729hrs units from Scaggsville-11 and Rivers Park-10 were sent for a person injured in a fall near the waters edge of Rocky Gorge Reservior at the Howard / PG County line. Boat 11 was used to make access to the patient who was then taken across the water to Scotts Landing.  P-105 transported to HCGH. PG 49 assisted with patient care and extrication. Unit 330 (Capt. Hardesty had the command)

QUARTERSTAFF / FREETOWN ROAD
PERSONAL INJURY / FLYOUT

At 1457hrs Engine 7, Tower 7, P105 were dispatched for a personal injury which was upgraded with a subject trapped in Box 7-3. EMS 2, BC-2, E101, P55 was added to the assignment with operations on Bravo 1. 
The subject was removed quickly and transferred to Trooper 8 via P105. Landing site was at Howard County General. The patient was upgraded to a Priority 1 with a possible closed head injury and taken to Shock Trauma in Baltimore.

BALTIMORE COUNTY
MUTUAL AID / MULTIPLE ASSIGNMENT
 

During the late evening hours on Friday night, the bells sounded to transfer Tower Company 2 and Engine Company 1 to Baltimore County station 5 as their units worked on a large multiple alarm fire.

Late night Friday additional units were called to assist Baltimore County since the southern portion of the County was short on EMS units. Paramedics 5, 11 and ambulance 6 were sent to cover these stations in Baltimore County. 13-Westview, 5-Halethorpe, and 4-Catonsville.

The department recently added a 24hr shift Safety officer who will be stationed at Long Reach #9. This position serves the entire county and is staffed with a Captain. Further info and pictures coming at a later date.

10-50 PI / RESCUE 


Units in the 1st Battalion were dispatched at 2229hrs near the Cedar Motel after a Police K9 officer came upon an accident. County police advised they had 2 unconcious subjects in an auto. Fire Department units arrived with multiple patients and 2 priority 1 cases with a person trapped. One subject was transported to HCGH as a working code. Operations were on Bravo 1.

ROUTE 32 NEAR CEDAR LANE
PERSONAL INJURY / ENTRAPMENT 

Just prior to 0500 this morning a call was received from a driver who was involved in a motor vehicle accident. He was unable to advise where he was located. Through E911 and GPS of the cell phone units were able to locate the vehicle on Route 32 at Cedar Lane. The subject was dazed and confused as well as trapped in the vehicle. The initial assignment for entrapment was alerted. The vehicle was located 200 feet down an embankment sitting next to the river and the Special Operations team was alerted to assist. Extrication was handled by Special OPS (Rivers Park) and the patient transferred to Medic 55 (Clarksville) and transported via ground to Shock Trauma. Units remaining on scene cleaned up and returned to service just after 0600.

PATAPSCO STATE PARK
PHYSICAL RESCUE / MUTUAL AID

Units from Howard County were called to assist Baltimore County this evening with a high angle rescue on their box 4-12. Special request for ATV1 and ATV10 were dispatched. One adult male and an adult female reported to have fallen appox. 50 feet down a cliff with lower extremity fractures.
Multiple agencies were involved including MSP Trooper 1.

I-95 at Route 100
HAZ-MAT SPILL

Units in the first battalion were dispatched for a reported truck into the woods, units from the Elkridge station arrived and requested Special Ops due to an active diesel fuel spill. OPS 10 was requested and offloaded the ruptured saddle tank. This incident occured during the evening rush hour causing a significant traffic delay on Interstate 95.

HOUSE FIRE

At approx 1250hrs companies were dispatched for a fire reported on the second floor on box area 1-4.  First arriving units found fire showing on the second floor window of a single family house. A task force was alerted. Units made quick work of the fire with mutual aid recieved by BWI, Baltimore County and Anne Arundel.

10-50 ROLLOVER PRIORITY 4

 
Just after 0500 communications received a call for a motor vehicle crash with roll over. As units were checking up the caller stated the subject was unconcious. The assignment  got the first upgrade. Shortly there after another upgrade that the subject was trapped.  E91arrived on the scene shortly after and advised of a priority 4 trapped in the car. Command held E91 and SQ1  till county police finished there investigation. E91 and SQ1 completed extrication and back in service just prior to shift change

The Department of Fire - Rescue will soon place Squad #17 in service. Reports indicate that the new squad/ladder tender will replace any truck company or squad company that may be out of service for repair, etc. More info and pics will be coming at a later date.

HOUSE FIRE

Units were dispatched for a house fire in the Savage section around midnight. Initial call recieved, and caller yelled for the fire department and hung up. Multiple calls were then recieved as a Howard Co Police helicopter called on Alpha 1 confirming a house well off as they flew over head. The Task force was started. RE62 arrived advised of the same with an all clear.

10000 Block of Frederick Road
POLICE CHASE / HAZ-MAT SPILL
 

At approx. 2247hrs County police gave chase in the area of Patapsco River Rd/Rogers Ave. The chase proceed to Main steet and traveled up Frederick road to the 10000 block with speeds above 80mph. The chase then ended when the suspect turned into Bills Towing parking lot and struck 1000 gallon fuel tank. The suspects truck ended on top of the tank. Bills towing removed the truck and uprighted the tank.
The Fire department was initially requested for a subject that was tazared. While enroute police advised of the diesel leak. OPS10 requested by E82 after evaluation.

MOUNT IDA DRIVE
TOWNHOUSE FIRE

In the afternoon hours, companies were sent to Mount Ida Drive for the reported fire in the bathroom with fire alarm activation. Tower company 2 arrived to find smoke showing from the inside and a fire on the bathroom floor. The alarm was reduced quickly to 2 and 1 as the fire was extinguished. 

E9, E2, TWR 2, PM 2, BC-2 were held on scene.
